(R.A.D. Teaching Diploma specialising in Grades & Vocational Grades - Dist. / Practical Teaching Supervisor for the R.A.D)

Carol studied RAD ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and Spanish flamenco while at school in South Africa. After completing her schooling and dancing professionally for 3 years, she went on to open 2 ballet studios in Port Elizabeth & Uitenhage. Both studios produced many talented students that went on to compete in the Genee finals in London and secure positions with The Canadian National Ballet Company and The Rambert Ballet in the UK.

In 1999 Carol spent a year teaching RAD ballet at The Ballet Centre in Dubai, UAE - after which she returned to South Africa to get married and went into partnership with Dawn De Wit (RAD Grade examiner).

In 2006 Carol and her husband and 2 young children emigrated to Australia and settled on the Gold Coast.

She has been teaching at D & D Performing Arts School since then and is very enthusiatic about the future of D & D and hopes to continue to deliver an excellent standard of teaching, while maintaining the sense of enjoyment and "family" that the present students are accustomed to.

Lisa Bennett has managed a successful career that has taken her all over the world performing at the The Moulin Rouge, various Cruise liners and Stage productions throughout Europe, Asia and Africa. Lisa accepted her first contract at Conrad Jupiter’s Casino in 2001 and the Gold Coast has been her home ever since. She has featured in Jupiters stage productions Hidden Palace, Rhythm of The Night, Storm, Midnight Magic, Tempo Rouge and finally Zingara which marked Lisa’s fourth consecutive show in the role of Dance Captain.

Lisa now runs her own Dance Agency providing Dancers and Choreography for Events and Stage Productions. Recently she Choreographed for the World Festival of Magic Australian Tour and “All Shook Up” The Musical.

She is very excited to continue the high standard of Jazz training that D & D students have received.

Kerrie started her acro coaching at Green valley community centre in 1983/4 teaching tumbling, floor, mini tramp & double mini.(a position secured after being a student gymnast & tumbler there for 6yrs)

She is married with 3 children, and has extensive experience in gymnastics, trampolining & Diving, including :Acrobatics Coach, Level 4 tumbling & double mini tramp, Level 1 coach basic track & field 2003.

Kerrie started Teaching a range of acrobatics in levels suitable to the students, at D & D in Feb 2009. These lessons have included tumbling, mini tramp, trapeze work, hoops, lifts, strength work & flexibility training. Kerrie is also a casual on call gymnastics coaching 2009 for PCYC Nerang.

Throughout this time she has been responsible for choreographing Eisteddfod groups and Eisteddfod solos which have been successfully performed and placed at numerous eisteddfods throughout Queensland. Suzanne has also choreographed tap solos for dancers who have performed as far as Los Angeles and she's proud to say that these routines, along with many of her groups have been winning routines at many eisteddfods. Her specialty is choreographing traditional tap groups as well as street tap groups & also traditional, speed, waltz & slow tap solos.

She has also been teaching the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus for the last 7 years with over 120 tappers sitting for exams and 100% success rate. Suzanne grew up training with the renowned Christine Denny, creator of Tapatak Oz, and she's also completed all of her CSTD Tapping exams. Her tapping style has definitely become well known across the Gold Coast and she is known for training technically apt tappers as well as presenting clean and well-trained groups.


Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Kassie’s passion for Pilates developed from her extensive background in dance. Introduced to Pilates in 1997, Kassie found it was an amazing addition to her dance training. Working professionally throughout Australia, North America and Europe, Kassie found that Pilates was the key to a strong, balanced and injury free body.

In 2007 Kassie completed her STOTT Pilates certification and has been teaching clients ever since. Currently working Pilates Elements in Burleigh Kassie has clientele from all walks of life.

As a student Carmel was trained in the Royal Academy of Dance method in Brisbane. She completed all her exams, gaining her Solo Seal at the age of 15. As a small child of 10 & 11 she danced with the Borovansky Ballet Company in their productions of “Nutcracker”. On advice from Peggy Van Praagh – the future Director of the Australian Ballet - she then trained full time on scholarship in Sydney, before being accepted as an foundation member of the Australian Ballet Company at age 17.

Carmel enjoyed 5 years travelling with this Company & was included in their first overseas tour which lasted 6 months. She visited more then 20 countries, dancing with such greats as Dame Margot Fonteyn & Rudolf Nureyev, as well as many other European & English guest artists. Dancing on the stage at Covent Garden London, was her dream come true from when she was a small child. Carmel then accepted the invitation to dance with the Queensland Ballet Company & was elated to be chosen to dance the title role of her favourite ballet “Giselle”. She also danced Swan Queen from 2nd act “Swan Lake”: Sugar Plum Fairy from “Nutcracker” and many other ballets. In later years, Carmel took the role of Giselle’s Mother when the Queensland Ballet Company was invited to perform at Expo 88 in Brisbane.

Carmel’s interest then turned to teaching & opened her own school “The Carmel Nolan School of Ballet” which ran very successfully for nearly 20 years, producing many successful students. After a semi-retirement period during which Carmel was invited to judge various “Scholarships”, Eisteddfods & competitions, Carmel returned to teaching & has been producing many more successful students who are - or who have been either at the Australian Ballet School & Australian Ballet Company or with various companies both here & overseas – e.g. The Royal Ballet of Flanders Company in Antwerp Belgium & The Queensland Ballet Extension Program & Company. Carmel enjoys choreography & working with dedicated & talented students & would be pleased to be able to pass on her experiences to the upcoming generation. Carmel is a Panel Member of the Royal Academy of Dance South Queensland.

Jasmin began her training with D'n D Performing Arts at the age of 5 and at 12 years continued onto full-time training at En Pointe on the Sunshine Coast.

At 16 years of age, Jasmin began her pre-professional ballet training at Professional Ballet Coaching under the guidance of Suzanne Way. Turning down an offer with the English National Ballet School, Jasmin took up an offer with the Dutch National Ballet Academy, where she moved to Holland to commence training in the pre-professional program at 17 years.

After moving back to Australia, Jasmin completed her CBTS becoming a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, while teaching ballet contemporary & tap at D'n D.

Jasmin has performed in many amateur productions, including the leads in "The Little Mermaid" and "The Wizard of Oz". Jasmin has been highly placed in many international competitions, including Sydney's Mc Donald Challenge, where she was a semi-finalist twice, New Zealand's Alana Haines competition (semi-finalist) and the Genee International Ballet Competition.

Jasmin's training has included ballet, contemporary, slow modern, jazz, musical theatre, tap and singing.

She aims to bring her passion for dance and musical theatre into the studio.

Having studied full-time dance for many years with some of Australia's leading dancers and teachers such as Suzanne Way, Louise Deleur, Ben Veitch, Ruby puts her many years of training and experience in ballet and contemporary into educating her students in a fun, safe and open minded environment where they are able to experiment and grow.
