Tinies (3-4 Yrs)

This class is classically based on Tuesdays and jazz based on Fridays and takes the format of one 30 minute lesson (during the week) in which children are encouraged to perform on their own (with parents observing if necessary). The class is jazz-based and includes the Tinies’ most popular music & songs. Children develop co-ordination, gross motor skills & rhythm and have tremendous fun in the process!

Pre-School (4 Yrs)

This takes the format of 3x15 minute lessons of Tap, Jazz & Ballet (ie. 45 mins once a week) and initiates the basic elements required in each discipline. Emphasis is on creativity, musicality, self confidence and FUN!

Dance

Classical Ballet (R.A.D.)

Pure classical technique is taught via the internationally renown Royal Academy of Dance syllabus. It forms the whole basis of dance and develops poise, posture, musicality and sound technique.

Jazz (B.A.L.)

Jazz technique and routines to the latest music are taught in both an exam/competitive and casual atmosphere.

Tap (B.A.L.)

If you’ve got rhythm and want to try something fun – then this style of dance is the option for you!

Hip Hop

A funky, street-type style of dance often taught by the male teaching staff, using really “Hip” music!

Jumps & Turns

Students learn and develop their ability to jump and turn. Classes focus on basic turning i.e. Chaines, Single turns - spotting and jumping - pikes, jetes, etc to developing skills to a much higher extreme for the advanced - fouette, Russian leaps. This is a compulsory class for all students who undertake examinations in jazz from Grade 2 and higher.

Drama & Performance

Students are taught performance skills, like acting, presenting & projection, using multimedia and vocal range. Productions and Pantomimes are the highlight of this discipline.

Singing

Students are coached in either private or group lessons, to develop strong and correct vocal techniques – tone, pitch, projection & control are a few of the many aspects covered in this discipline. Correct microphone technique and remedial/correctional coaching are also available for the more advanced performer.

Acrobatics

Students learn both basic and complex gymnastic skills, which culminate annually in our studio production presenting these to popular music.

Eisteddfods

Students are invited to demonstrate their interest by auditioning for our age group teams. These students then compete in local Eisteddfods until the 3rd term when we have an Eisteddfod concert, displaying all the items that have been performed that year. This is a great environment for making new friends and building team spirit.

Students may also elect to participate in solo, duo & trio Eisteddfod items, at the Principals’ discretion.
